Don’t Put Off Asking for Help

My shoulder has been bothering me when I work out, so I scheduled an appointment to see a physical therapist. Here’s the problem: My shoulder has been bothering me for a while now—probably 2-3 months. But I just now booked an appointment to get some help. What’s the deal with that?
Resisting Asking for Help
For some reason, I tend to put off asking for help. I’m not sure why. It might be pride—I think I should be able to take care of it myself. Or it might be laziness—I don’t want to take the time and effort to book the appointment and go in. It might be the money—there was a part of me that didn’t want to pay a hundred bucks a session to get my shoulder worked on. Whatever the reason, I kept putting it off, hoping my shoulder would get better on its own.
It didn’t.
So now here I am, a few months later, still with a sore shoulder, finally getting some help.
Don’t Put Off Asking for Help
Here’s a life tip I’m trying to follow: Don’t put off asking for help. Sure, it’s fine to try to work out a problem on your own for a certain amount of time. But if things aren’t getting better and you are feeling stuck, get some help! There’s no shame in getting another perspective on the issue you are facing. Swallow your pride and get a second opinion. I wish I had done that WAY earlier.
